It’s Saturday, and the first Saturday in ages that I’ve not been at work. Day began with a walk down to Sainsbury’s for the traditional Cambridge Folk Festival fried breakfast, which was good as always. I had planned to head into Cambridge to buy some jeans: however, it turned out that there was a TK Maxx just down the road, so I went there and got a nice pair of £80 jeans reduced to £30, and a Fender belt. Which is slightly too small.
After reading through the Japanese language/manga book a bit (it’s rather good: it’s actually fun to read and I think I’m learning something) we headed down to the festival site and spent a while in the club tent, just watching the various minor bands. There was a good one made up of former festival comperes who did some good blues covers that I particularly remember.
In the VIP bar tent now, with Bruce Cockburn on the stage doin’ his stuff. The lovely Kate Rusby and the equally lovely Joan Baez are on later.
