Yeahhh. I bought one. I went down to Akihabara, where I spent ages looking for the cheap place I found before. Found it by accident underneath the southbound Yamanote line bridge. Akihabara ain’t as cheap as you’d like, particularly in the big chain stores: but the thing is, all the models are the latest ones [...]

Leaving Hakone
October 23rd, 2007 · 1 Comment
I got up early today, at 7am, to use the private indoor spring. Aaah, luxury. Planned possible routes for the day, then went down to the local Lawson store to get some breakfast. And as I walked down the road and Hakone’s gorgeous mountains appeared, I thought “I should live here.” Bet it costs you [...]

Hakone

Having problems uploading pics so can’t do a proper entry — oh wait, I ran out of disk space on the server.
That’s better.
So today I went to Hakone. The reasons for going are twofold, and equally nerdy.
1) There is an old PC game called Microsoft Train Simulator. You drive trains. One of them is the [...]

So went out with Megumi and her friend Shinobu (apparently nothing to do with Shinobi) yesterday. It was raining, and everything was all sparkly and… rainy. Went to two branches of Hub, the English Pub (Which Serves Fried Octopus), ended up meeting a group of gaijin and missing the last train back, but I believe [...]
e-mix part 2
October 18th, 2007 · No Comments
Second night of work at e-mix! Which is easy. Did a one-to-one lesson, which I think I was pretty good at. Then just free conversation for ages. I amazed all with my knowledge of Japanese emperors. Met a girl who’s also into Evangelion. Earned 8,000 yen. Yay.

Yeah, I caved in. Went down to Ueno’s branch of Muji and picked up a suit jacket and tie for 12,000 yen. Still need to get shoes, though.
